A FIRM HISTORY OF REPRESENTING
CENTRAL OREGON.
Since our inception in 1915,
Bryant, Lovlien & Jarvis has worked to provide its clients with
the highest level of legal services, professional concern, and personal
attention. Our firm has seen its share of change over the years: the
new names, new faces, and new technologies that come with decades of
dedicated service. But since Jay H. Upton founded this firm in 1915,
one thing has remained the same; a desire to serve the community with
exceptional legal expertise and an extraordinary staff of professionals.
In 1920 Mr.Upton
was joined by Harvey DeArmond, the first District Attorney for
Deschutes County. After serving two terms in the state legislature,
Mr. DeArmond was elected the first president of the Oregon Bar
Association (1939-1940), beginning a tradition of esteemed and
distinguished firm alumni.
From 1939-1995, the firm changed its name six times to reflect
its growing and changing staff. The names that graced our doors
included those of Alva C. Goodrich, Alvin Gray Jr., Bradley D.
Fancher, James V. Hurley, William Holmes, and a host of other
recognizable contributors to both the legal profession and the
community.
Legislator Neil Bryant, Robert S. Lovlien and Lynn Jarvis joined
the firm between 1973-1978, became partners, and watched their
names become the firm's moniker in 1995 with its present-day
designation, Bryant, Lovlien & Jarvis. Each of these partners
has demonstrated a high degree of devotion to both legal excellence
and community service. This devotion is manifest throughout the
entire firm.
Today, we at Bryant, Lovlien & Jarvis work hard to continue
our history of excellent legal service through a dedicated, distinguished
staff. We look forward to forging a new heritage with our clients
as we move into the next millennium.
